NPSS Singapore Nature Photographer of the Year

Today is a proud day for my family and myself. At the awards ceremony organised by Nature Photographic Society Singapore, it was with great honour to be named, Singapore Nature Photographer of the Year. The award was presented by guest-of-honour, Minister for Social and Family Development, Desmond Lee. The ceremony aptly took place at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, one of Singapore’s ecological jewels.

The SNPY competition ran over 9 months, where Singapore-based nature photographers competed over 3 different themes. Albeit a small nation, nature photographers in Singapore do pack a punch on the international stage. Avian/ Wildlife SNPY was won by Jayaprakash Bojan, who was recently crowned NatGeo Nature Photographer of the Year. It is humbling to have my pictures placed amongst some breath-taking pictures, in what turned out to be an outstanding show.

Congratulations to all the winners and participants of SNPY, the organising committee at NPSS and the sponsors for their very generous awards.
