Singapore Underwater Photographer of the Year 2024

Such an honour to have won Singapore Underwater Photographer of the Year 2024, at the inaugural ‘Earth in Focus’ Singapore Nature Film Festival.

The winning photo was shot in Derawan Islands, Indonesia. I wanted to capture the interaction between local fisherman on traditional 'bagans' and whale sharks. The split shot in one single frame was shot by threading water, fighting the turbulent waters while keeping the hefty camera half afloat.
