I’m really pleased that my image has received Honourable Mention in the latest edition of Minimalist Photography Awards.

It is one of my favourite photographs, being an adrenaline-pumped action shot during a night dive in French Polynesia. This photograph shows a pair of grey chasing after its prey, a fusilier fish during a night hunt.

Initially, the fusilier hid amongst the crevasse in the corals. When it was detected, it attracted a shiver of sharks to break through the corals to flush the fusilier out. Corals were broken and the sand silt was stirred up – absolute mayhem. What followed was a high-speed chase in the pitch darkness of the night. I kicked my fins as hard as I could and followed the chase with my camera furiously firing and was fortunate enough to capture this image. I remember panting heavily at the end of the chase, and yes the shark got the fusilier.
