Deep Visions Underwater Photogaphy Awards 2021

These thousand of marbled groupers are not frozen because the photograph was shot at high speed. They are frozen because they are incredibly horny and bursting to spawn. It is probably the only time you can get any mass gathering of fish to face the camera without budging.

Really pleased that this image received second place in Deep Visions Underwater Photography Awards 2021.
